Mary has spent more than 17 years in executive leadership roles guiding successful fundraising teams for highly respected nonprofit brands including: Arthritis Foundation, Jane Goodall Institute and Youth Villages.
Although Mary’s career focus has been in the nonprofit arena, she began in the field of broadcasting. Soon after graduation from Miami University in Ohio, Mary secured an on-air position as a morning show co-host for the leading radio station in Memphis. During this time at the station, Mary also began expanding her skills taking on a dual role of radio promotions director. Within several years, Mary moved into television serving on both sides of the camera; first as a producer and, later, a morning show co-host at WMC TV in Memphis.
These varied but complimentary roles in media gave Mary a unique perspective when building successful nonprofit fundraising and awareness initiatives. While Group Vice President of Strategic Marketing Alliances with the national Arthritis Foundation, Mary worked with her team to develop a new integrated sponsorship model. The program, Let’s Talk RA, was the organization’s first seven figure annual initiative and ran for over seven years with the same sponsor.
Mary followed up her time at the Arthritis Foundation, working in Arlington, Virginia with famed primatologist, Dr. Jane Goodall. In her role as Senior Vice President of Development and Communications she led all national fundraising, marketing, and communications for the Jane Goodall Institute. .
In the Atlanta market, Mary has worked as Vice President of Development for Visiting Nurse Health System and Director of Development for Youth Villages.
