Melissa is a native of Georgia, growing up in Stone Mountain. She graduated from Georgia State University with a B.S. in Economics and an MBA with an emphasis in Accounting and Finance. She is the recipient of the Wall Street Journal Award for Academic Excellence.
Melissa has over 25 years of experience in accounting and finance with 15 years in non-profit organizations. She has worked in accounting and finance with a variety of for-profit and not-for profit organizations but has found her true passion in the not-for-profit sector. ‘There is nothing like having a profession that allows you to bring so many people together and give back to the community.’
Melissa participated in the prestigious Leadership Gwinnett program as a member of the 2011-2012 class. She continues to serve on various community action committees that developed from her class. One of her favorite committees provides mentorship and guidance to teens. She is also very active with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and most recently served as a Co-Service Unit Director in Gwinnett County. Melissa has volunteered with Girl Scouts for the past 9 years.
Melissa lives with her husband and two children in Suwanee, Georgia.
