Christmas at Callanwolde: Designer Show House & Christmas Village
November 24th to December 12th, 12 PM to 8 PM every day of the week!
The joy of the holiday season begins at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center with The Christmas at Callanwolde Designer Show House– an Atlanta holiday tradition for 40 years! Visitors of all ages will enjoy touring the 27,000 square-foot historic mansion elaborately decorated by Atlanta’s top interior and floral designers, as well as professional holiday displays, an expansive artists’ market, and themed events for all ages. Every room inspires and captures the spirit of the season. Callanwolde holds something for every member of the family.
By evening, see the 12 acre campus of Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in a new light- every building on the grounds will shine with professional light displays by Illuminating Design.
Christmas at Callanwolde offers a variety of opportunities to celebrate the season with daily events including:

Tickets are $20 online and $25 at the door (credit or debit card only).

Callanwolde Holiday Gala, November 30th, 6 PM to 9 PM. Join us for a magical holiday evening of live entertainment from world-class performers, catering by Zest Atlanta, event planning from Geri Sims Weddings and Events, and a thrilling silent auction hosted by 501 Auctions. Performing this year: John Driskell Hopkins of the Zac Brown Band, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra with The Joe Gransden Big Band, and Katie Deal! Tickets are available by advance purchase only!
John Driskell Hopkins is best known for his role as a founding member, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter for the Grammy Award Winning group Zac Brown Band. In late summer, 2015, Hopkins fulfilled a dream when he collaborated with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra on a Christmas album, titles “In The Spirit: A Celebration of the Holidays,” recording 12 tracks of timeless holiday tunes with soaring arrangements and wonderful special guests such as the Indigo Girls, Balsam Range, and actress/singer extraordinaire, Laura Bell Bundy.
The Atlanta Pops Orchestra is a premier provider of live orchestral music programming for the state of Georgia, the Southeastern U.S. and beyond. With a rich history spanning more than seven decades, the orchestra has captivated audiences throughout the world. Equally adept performing pop, jazz, folk, hip-hop, light classical, country and more, the Atlanta Pops challenges the expectation of what an orchestra is capable of delivering.
The Joe Gransden 16 Piece Big Band is quickly becoming one of the busiest groups on the jazz scene. Originally formed in 2009 Joe and the guys have continued to build momentum and are performing numerous shows around the country. The bands new release entitled “It’s A Beautiful Thing” has sold incredibly well and is getting radio air play all over the world! The CD was recorded live at Cafe 290 in Atlanta Georgia where the band holds a steady gig twice every single month.
Katie Deal earned critical acclaim touring nationally in her show Katie Deal in Today, Tomorrow & Forever: A Tribute to Patsy Cline as well as two national tours of A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline. Other theatre credits include: multiple productions of Always, Patsy Cline (Patsy Cline), Ring of Fire (June Carter), Keep on the Sunny Side (Sara Carter),The Road: My Life with John Denver, 9 to 5 (Doralee), and The Spitfire Grill (Percy—Ostrander Award nominee). Film: Let’s Be Cops and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. Concerts: Classic Nashville Roadshow, I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues, and Patsy Cline: Sweet Dreams of You. As a singer-songwriter Katie was awarded the 2016 Georgia Country Artist of the Year, the 2016 Atlanta Society of Entertainers Recording Artist of the Year, and is also an Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame Honoree.

Callanwolde Artists’ Market, daily. Held in the Conservatory, instructors and students of the Callanwolde School of Visual Arts will showcase and sell their unique works of fine arts and crafts- including ornaments, jewelry, pottery, photographs and paintings.
Group Tours with High Tea, by reservation only. We will be offering Tours With Tea in collaboration with Zest Atlanta Catering. This incredible package offers a docent guided tour of the mansion, along with a High Tea menu served in the Winter Living Room of the Candler Mansion. Group Tours with High Tea must be booked in advance of October 29th. High Tea is held between noon and 2 PM, and has a minimum guest count of 20. Rick Baker School of Music and Music Recording Winter Recital: On November 17th, our students will perform for an audience of family, friends, and fans of the students of the Rick Baker School of Music and Music Recording.
VIP Holiday Gala, November 30th, 6 PM to 9 PM. Breakfast with Santa, December 2nd and 9th, 9 AM. This event features a kid-friendly breakfast by Zest Atlanta Catering and admission to tour the decorated estate, as well as picture-perfect moments with Santa when children share their secret wish lists are all included with a ticket purchase. Tickets are available by advance purchase only!
Teddy Bear Tea, December 3rd and 10th, 2 PM. Guests will enjoy tea, hot cocoa, tea sandwiches, charming desserts, and holiday sing-a-longs. Callanwolde Teddy Bears for sale at this event. Tickets include admission to tour the decorated home. Santa will make a special visit to deliver special gift bags to all the children. Catering provided by Zest Atlanta. Tickets are available by advance purchase only!
Callanwolde School of Dance: The Nutcracker & More
Polar Express & The Nutcracker: A Callanwolde School of Dance Event: December 2nd, 2:00 & 5:00. Accompany our Callanwolde dancers along with Atlanta professional performers on an entrancing, full of all kinds of dancing, excursion to the Land of Sweets. A Holiday treat where you can meet Callanwolde’s Polar Princess!

This year’s show will be held at Agnes Scott College’s Gaines Chapel, Presser Hall, 1375 McDonough Street, Decatur.
Tour with Champagne and Performance of The Nutcracker: December 4th thru 7th, champagne begins flowing and dance performances start at 6 PM. After arriving at the Candler Mansion to a warm welcome and a cold glass of complementary champagne, you’ll be given a map and set free to tour the Tudor-Revival Mansion impeccably decorated by Atlanta’s top interior designers. Throughout the historic home, you will be treated to different selections of The Nutcracker performed by the Callanwolde School of Dance.
Finally, retire to the indoor Courtyard for delicious desserts provided by Murphy’s Restaurant. On the way out, don’t forget to stop by The Callanwolde Artist’s Market to peruse thoughtful gift ideas handcrafted by Callanwolde teachers and students.
All desserts and drinks are included with admission. ID must be presented to be served alcoholic beverages.

After Christmas at Callanwolde- Extended Holiday Tour Hours
December 17th to December 29th, 12 to 8 PM, Sunday through Friday (closed Saturdays)
After The Christmas at Callanwolde Designer Show House wraps up, the Candler Mansion will stay open for self-guided tours with extended hours for the holiday season. Learn about a unique slice of Atlanta history and see a local treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Admission will remain the same as our regular self-guided tours:
- General Admission: $8
- Students: $5
- Seniors: $5
- Groups of 10 or more: $5 (per person)
- Children under 11: Free
- Members: Free
Our outdoor holiday lighting displays will stay for the duration of the season. Callanwolde is closed for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
