In 2010 she was named by Cobb Life Magazine as one of their “Top 40 Under 40,” and The Atlanta Journal and Constitution featured Buckalew in their “My Style Fashion Feature”, as one of the most fashionable people in Metro Atlanta. In 2013 she was named YWCA’s Woman of the Year and one of Georgia Symphony Orchestra’s Southern Notables in 2013.
In March of 2013 Atlanta Magazine featured her design project for the Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art Show House, and she won a top ten slot in a design competition to redesign the Residences at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Buckhead. In 2015, CODA Magazine showcased her restaurant project, House of Lu, in their Transformative Walls feature.
She owns several other companies, works with select design clients, both commercial and residential, all while balancing her community work, and her love of fashion, art and travel. She and her husband Brian live with their beloved, rescue bulldog named Huck.
