Lathem Jenkins Gordon, Allied ASID, Associate IIDA comes to design with a diverse background. After earning her undergraduate degree in Visual Arts from Presbyterian College, Lathem worked in higher education as Assistant Director of Admissions and Admissions Counselor, in graphic design, and in politics as a campaign manager. Upon realizing that interior design brought together two of her greatest passions – design and people – she decided to pursue a career in the field.
After earning her MFA in Interior Design at SCAD and a certificate from Education First International Spanish Language Program in Barcelona, Lathem worked with both commercial and residential clients at DDM Designs in Savannah, Georgia, Savannah Magazine’s choice for Best Interior Design Firm in Savannah. She is now a designer at Nandina Home & Design here in Atlanta. Her global experiences, artistic flare, and attention to detail are consistently evident in her designs. She has also been a guest designer on ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition and HGTV’s Unsellables.
Lathem believes the secret to strong design begins with an excellent client/designer relationship. She is passionate about designing spaces that specifically meet the needs of each client. Whether you need an office space that reflects your brand, a home that better suits your family’s needs, or a space that mirrors your style, Lathem is eager to lend her design expertise.
Cate Drury, Allied ASID, has always had a passion for interiors. She feels that the functionality of a space is equally as important as the look; She finds the challenge to accomplish both exciting. Cate received a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Georgia Southern University in 2009. She is an Allied member of ASID and serves her professional organization working with students and emerging professionals on both the local and national levels.
History and design are Cate’s greatest loves. She feels most inspired in older structures. “I love giving a building new life, a new purpose. My greatest joy, in design, is the opportunity to tell my client’s stories. My goal is always to create space that is functional and beautiful, but more importantly, one that communicates who my client is.” says Cate. She loves layering architectural elements, heirlooms, photographs, artwork, and textiles to create a unique mix of styles.
Cate is a native Atlantan. She currently lives in Decatur in her mother’s childhood home with her cocker spaniel, George. Redesigning and decorating the house has been her most challenging and most rewarding project.
