Meet Our Director of Painting and Drawing

Christina Bray, Director of Painting and Drawing

Chris Bray has been a member of Callanwolde’s staff since June, 2012. Most recently, she was named Director of Drawing and Painting; she also serves as Art Gallery Director and Director of Development and Outreach. She is a working artist who began her life at Callanwolde with a solo exhibition in our gallery in early 2012. That exhibition, she says, foreshadowed the great opportunity for growth she would experience at Callanwolde in the ensuing years.

As the new Painting and Drawing Director, Chris looks forward to working with our students to help them realize goals for their creative lives, and to serving as an advocate and facilitator for our visual arts faculty. “Before I came to this new position,” she says, “Callanwolde’s Painting and Drawing program had already begun adding new classes that appeal to serious artists. We will do more of that going forward. I want the community to know Callanwolde as a place where those seeking intensive, professional-level art instruction, for the lowest possible cost, can find it.”
