The Callanwolde Fine Arts Center Gallery presents Outliers: On the Road to Terminus – Printmaking Destinations Outside the Beltline
In conjunction with the Southern Graphics Council International’s 2017 Conference, Terminus: Arrivals and Departures, which is being held in Atlanta, March 15-18, 2017. For more information on the conference, visit www.sgciatlanta.com.
About the Exhibition
Printmaking reverberates, reciprocates and cycles outside of Atlanta, Georgia’s capital and the terminus. This exhibition represents Georgia’s academic printmakers revealing the art and ideas that are enriched by and reciprocally influence the printmaking communities of Atlanta.
Ten institutions, represented by their nationally and internationally known printmaking faculty, define the broad range of practices under the ever-growing umbrella of printmaking. The critical and personal concepts may hint at Southern roots but elicits far more variety with an expansive reach into the contemporary world of art.
The 14 printmakers showcased are: Anne Beidler (Agnes Scott College); Chadwick Tolley (Augusta State University); Claudia Wilburn (Brenau University); William Fisher (Georgia College and State University); Valerie Dibble (Kennesaw State University); Margaret Reneke (LaGrange College); Eun Lee and Elmer Ramos (Savannah College of Art and Design); Melissa Harshman, Jon Swindler, and Eileen Wallace (The University of Georgia); Michael Marling (The University of North Georgia); and Debrah Santini and Stephanie Smith (The University of West Georgia).
