Laurie Steele I am half Japanese and half American and have loved art ever since I was able to imagine. I have an irresistible urge to collect stones, shells, bones, rusty metal and other “found” objects. Growing up on a farm, I was always dragging home large stones from the fields. I am an intense organizer and find beauty and visual interest in seemingly random but actually carefully arranged groups. In 1983, I graduated with a degree in Art Education from Berry College in Rome, Georgia and had a 2 person show at their Moon Gallery in February 2012. I was a Pottery Assistant at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center and now I teach handbuilding at Callanwolde.
