The movie directed by Taylor Hackford (Officer and a Gentleman, Devils Advocate) stars Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles.
Intimate vocals, insightful lyrics, and the lost art of melody are all present and the mainstay of Richard A. Smith’s 2nd release effort, Beautiful Compulsion. With cameo contributions and support from several noteworthy heavyweight friends including guitarist Peter Stroud (Sheryl Crowe, Don Henley, Sara Mclaughlin, Tim Smith (Jellyfish and the Finn Bros). Smith creates primarily guitar based instrumentation complimented by a seductive voice and a composers ear for sophisticated pop song writing.
