The Callanwolde Experience – Tour the Candler Estate
Enjoy a guided tour of the mansion and a walking tour of the grounds and outer buildings. Callanwolde is an impressive 27,000 square feet Tudor Revival style mansion built in 1920. It was owned by one of Atlanta’s preminent families, Charles Howard Candler, eldest son of Asa Candler, founder of Coca-Cola. Saved from demolition in 1971 by the citizens of DeKalb County, the architectural landmark in the historic Druid Hills neighborhood of Atlanta now serves as a unique fine arts center and hub of cultural activity.
The 12-acre estate is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a gracious and inviting home for the community to enjoy. For additional fees, you can tailor your tour with an arts experience chosen from our menu of options. All arts experiences are subject to availability of teachers.
