As one of the most popular and photographed locations in Atlanta, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is a unique wedding venue. Located in Atlanta’s Druid Hills neighborhood, the magnificent 27,000 square ft. Tudor Revival style mansion is situated on a 12.5-acre estate of beautifully landscaped gardens and wooded grounds and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Completed in 1920, Callanwolde was the home of Charles Howard Candler, eldest son of The Coca-Cola Company founder Asa Candler. The Callanwolde mansion has been featured in books, television, and motion pictures and has hosted thousands of weddings, galas and private events over the years. Callanwolde is rented weekdays, weekends and holidays. The entire facility, with the exclusion of the gallery area, is available for rental on Saturdays and Sundays.
Mansion (Great Hall, Grand Staircase, Indoor Courtyard)
The Callanwolde’s Tudor Revival mansion is lush with walnut paneling, stained-glass windows, grand staircase and fully enclosed courtyard. Event seating capacity in the Great Hall is 160. Event seating capacity in the courtyard with theater style seating is 300, seated at tables is 240. Callanwolde is able to provide seating for a maximum of 200. Gardens and Grounds
Callanwolde’s 12.5 acres of lush gardens and wooded grounds are tiered with stone walls and gravel pathways, and include a circular council ring, a hydrangea memorial garden, a wooden arbor, completely restored formal gardens, and a terraced lawn area. Some outdoor settings may be used for ceremonies and social gatherings. Lighting provided by Geri Sims.
Callanwolde’s magnificent historic Aeolian Organ may be rented for use during special events. The rental fee goes directly to the organ restoration and maintenance fund and does not include the organist fee. The Aeolian organ has been fully-restored and is monitored regularly by a professional company. Access to the organ is $150. An organist must be arranged through Callanwolde event staff.
The Callanwolde mansion and retreat kitchens may be used for holding and heating foods prepared off-site. In addition, Callanwolde offers the following equipment during rental times:
- Ten 6′ rectangular tables, 30″ by 72″
- Ten 8′ rectangular tables
- Twenty 60″ round tables
- Fifteen 36″ round tables
- 200 white wooden folding chairs
- Wurlitzer Upright Piano ($150)
- Baldwin Grand Piano ($300)
- Southbend Range with six burners, hot plate, broiler and two 24″ wide ovens.
- Top half of Traulsen freezer, 24″ wide.
- One double-door Traulsen refrigerator unit, 24″ wide.
- One Scottsman Icemaker, producing up to 100 pounds of ice.
- Hobart dishwasher with detergent and jet dry automatically dispensed.
- Hobart garbage disposal
- One three-compartment pot sink
- One pre-rinse sink
- Ample counter space is available in the Hot and Cold Kitchens.
Renters book their own vendors. Each vendor is required to be licensed and insured.
Callanwolde has space for approximately 150 cars on site. If additional parking spaces are needed, Callanwolde will make suggestions for an alternate parking area in close proximity to Callanwolde. Renter will be responsible for providing shuttle service should the renter deem it necessary. Callanwolde does not provide shuttle service and can only clear parking one month prior to the date of the event.
Alcohol on Premises
Renters may bring their own alcoholic beverages, however they must use a licensed bartender throughout the event.
Callanwolde is handicapped accessible. No weapons or firearms are allowed on Callanwolde porperty. Callanwolde has 24 hour security and video surveillance.
