Formed in 2017 out of the city’s underground pop scene\, the band released two early albums on Citrus City Records before unveiling their third LP\, Blossom Girl Ultra (2024)\, on Rope Bridge Records. The album blends Tokyo city-pop\, new wave\, and classic indie into songs that shimmer with funk guitar\, disco percussion\, and sleek synths\, pairing bright surfaces—color\, polish\, and melody—with an undercurrent of melancholy. According to your desired objectives and concepts\, you will create a series of three works. An artist creates a series of works to explore a concept and/ or techniques. The possibilities are endless and all depend on where you are on your art journey. The first class will be used to explore your ideas\, brainstorm possibilities\, and create compositional studies of possibilities. We will also plan out what materials\, references\, and supplies you will need to accomplish your goals and objectives. Come to class with possible ideas/concepts\, an idea of what media and surfaces you want to create the works on and with\, and an open mind! You may also wish to work independently but have the company of the class and ask for advice or help when needed. Lorraine has over twenty years experience teaching collegiate level art foundations.
