My traditional education is extensive, but I have learned the most from those who have mentored me one-on-one over the years: Shijun Munn in painting, Tony Millionaire in illustration, and now Christine Slocumb in glass.
I studied in Vienna, and The Rose Window in the St. Stephen's Cathedral is my number one influence in my glasswork- the soft, rich colors at sunset over the greys and browns and black settings, glowing in blurry focus, always calling to me to look up to see colors and light.
I see myself as a host in class. I am here for guidance, to explain how all the parts work. I support students in finding their own style, not to feel pressure to mimic anyone else.
I love doing this and want you to also enjoy doing this with the class!
