Jessica Elaine Blinkhorn is an Atlanta-based interdisciplinary artist, social rights activist, curator, and educator. Her work, primarily powerful installation and performance pieces, advocates for the disabled, aging, and LGBTQ+ communities, promoting equality, equity, and inclusion. Blinkhorn, who uses a powerchair, focuses on personal autonomy, body positivity, human sexuality, and dismantling social narratives. Diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy-Type 2, she turned to performance art when traditional media became insufficient to convey her creative vision. She is a recipient of the prestigious 2024 Guggenheim Fellowship in Fine Arts for her photographic installation project, SPANKBOX. ATL, which explores disability and sexuality.
