This class is designed for self-directed students with previous experience in basic technical skills. Continuing intermediate and advanced students who wish to expand their design and fabrication techniques will work on independent projects with instructor input and one-on-one guidance. Demos and design discussions will be ongoing. Prerequisite: Three(3) jewelry fabrication classes or permission of instructor.

JWY 01 – Beginner Metalsmithing: Beginning Jewelry Making (Morgan)

In this introductory class, you’ll learn to use essential metalsmithing tools to create your first jewelry pieces. We’ll cover sawing, filing, soldering, polishing, and cold connections, with a strong focus on proper technique and studio safety. All tools and basic materials are provided, though students may wish to bring their own cabochons or sterling silver.
