This is the perfect entry level class for beginning wheel students. It will cover the basic techniques of throwing, glazing, and firing. Students will also learn the important safety guidelines and procedures of the ceramics studio. Projects on the wheel will focus on small forms (cups, bowls, saucers).
The advanced class works on the Wu Style saber and long forms. All classes will be held on zoom.

This course offers introductory instruction to the forging, forming, cutting, and joining skills of blacksmithing. Students will learn basic blacksmith safety, how to start and manage a solid fuel forge, the heat treatment of tool steel, and how to forge weld. Handbuilding is the art of making ceramic forms without the use of a potter’s wheel. Students will study the basics of building pots by pinch, coil, and/or slab built techniques, and learn the important safety guidelines and procedures of ceramics studio.
