How much should I give?
$350 provides support for a student in need of financial aid to attend one class at Callanwolde.
$2,000 enables one student to attend our 8-week art program for veterans.
At a recent Art Scholars workshop at Callanwolde, a fifth grader stood on a chair and announced, “This is the best day ever!” He had just experienced a full day of enriching art activities including painting & drawing, clay handbuilding, and creative movement, at no cost to his family.
Art Scholars is designed to support Title I-qualifying parents and students in DeKalb County on days when schools are closed. Parents don’t need to miss work or find alternate forms of childcare for the day.
Art Scholars now extends to Fulton County and Atlanta Public schools, and we now offer a full week of Creative Camp to students from a Title I school during the summer.
In addition to Art Scholars, we also partner with DeKalb County Schools to provide art workshops to newcomer immigrants and refugee students, who qualify for Title III assistance.

Our programs also provide life-changing access to the arts for veterans who suffer from PTSD, veterans transitioning out of homelessness, and low-income seniors. Callanwolde brings veterans and seniors out of isolation and provides a safe and supportive place to for them to express themselves and heal. One of our senior students told us that “Callanwolde is the cheapest therapy there is.”
The “best days ever” that Callanwolde creates are essential to the health of our community. According to Americans for the Arts, in a 2016 public opinion poll, 73 percent of Americans said that the arts provided meaning in their lives and were a positive experience in a troubled world.

We rely on donations towards our Annual Fund to make these programs successful.
Your tax-deductible contribution helps us fulfill our mission to provide the Atlanta community with premier, accessible arts education, especially to the underserved, while promoting enjoyment of the arts at the historic and inspiring Callanwolde estate.
