Learn the difference in the two types of powder pastels and how to use them together to create colorful works of art. We will use still life, nature and landscape to develop your drawing skills. You will also develop your use and understanding of color. Color Theory will naturally be discussed in every class. Students may also work on personal projects.

Week 1-review supplies, learn techniques of use, how to begin demonstration, draw a fruit or vegetable

Week 2-lecture color theory; layering pure hues vs opaque color. draw your choice of fruit and or vegetable.

Week 3-choose a tree outside to study-texture demonstration

Week 4-landscape- lecture-tips for depth

Week 5-fold of cloth study- directional shading

Week 6-animal study

Week 7-mastercopy

Week 8-finish all artworks
