Raku Ornaments
Handbuild a Mug
This glazing workshop introduces you to the spectacular art of raku firing. Special glazes are used to make one-of-a-kind pieces. Pick your glaze, apply it to your ornament, then we'll fire it. Students will be able to observe the process and will also be helping to prep for the final post-reduction. You’ll have beautiful finished and fired ornaments by the end of the workshop!
Handbuilding is a basic sculptural technique to make ceramic art with, you guessed it, your hands! This type of clay forming is done without the use of a potter's wheel. In this clay workshop, you'll learn and experience a variety of techniques to create a clay mug! Clay is included. For an extra fee of $10, participants can pay to have their work fired.
Wheel Throwing is the traditional way that potters make pots on a turning wheel. In this workshop, you will experience and learn about the basics of throwing and making pottery. By the end of the workshop, the goal is to make a clay bowl. It takes practice, but it's a lot of fun. Clay is included. For an extra fee of $10, participants can pay to have their work fired.
